As announced a few days ago, we will have the capacity to make FiCT a one day competition. This means that all the events will take place on Saturday, March 5. Times will be from 8am to approximately 7pm. So if you are hesitating because you think that this will take up all your week end, this is the time to make sure you register and have a great time on Saturday!
Registrations ends on Sunday
Registration for the upcoming FiCT competition ends this Sunday, Feb 20. This is a great opportunity to find more about how fit you are or display what your gym or training center is capable of. Aside from the title “Fittest in Cape Town” in the men’s, women’s and team categories, there is a total of R10,000 at stake. Due to the feedback that lots of competitors cannot be present for the entire week end and it looks like we have enough spacial resources, we will most likely be completing the entire event within one day (Saturday). Get in touch if you are concerned. We will post about this until Wednesday this week. Note that we will have professional on-site sports massage (R40/10min) available.
First workout details and registration deadline
Many of you have been asking: What are the events? What is something comes up that I cannot do? Well, overall it is very likely that the competition will at some point contain a movement that you are not very good at. But that will be the case for everybody, regardless who you are. However, as stated earlier and in the FAQ, the movements, especially in the earlier stages of competition will be achievable for most everybody.
The exact workouts will only be revealed after the registration deadline (Feb 20), but here is what is to be expected: At some stage of the competition, you will have to pick weights off the floor. Olympic Weightlifting technique will not be required. Also, walking/running and to some extend jumping will be part of at least one of the workouts. Being able to do multiple push ups and squats will be very helpful.
Again, this is the unique opportunity to test your physical fitness. So make sure you get yourself and your gym/team signed up until Feb 20.
